Blueberry picking

Last week we went blueberry picking with some of our friends. What a fun activity for the kids. The kids had a hard time filling up their buckets because the blueberries were too good to resist. Ha!

Comparing

When Tessa was born I thought she looked identical to Trent when he was born.
I kept saying she was a mini him.
Now that I look at the photos I'm not so sure.

Today....

My sweet baby girl is the exact same age her big brother was when he had his surgery. I will never forget that day. What an awful feeling that was handing over my precious baby to the surgeons. It was such a humbling experience. I remember thinking why me?...why my son? Those feelings quickly turned to guilt as we walked through the hospital and saw parents of sick children. Parents that had been there for days, weeks, maybe even months. Parents who did not know the future of their precious baby or child. It was then that I realized, wow it could be a lot worse. I knew my Trent was going to be ok. I knew he was in very good hands and we were going to be going home the next day. I am so thankful for my children. They are healthy, happy, and beautiful. I am so blessed!

monumental moment folks

Ok, so I'm a little embarrassed to admit this...but today is a huge day in the Lux household! Why you ask? Well let me explain... Today marks the first day Trent has fallen asleep for nap time without me having to drive him around in the car. There I said it, my two (almost 2.5) year old still has to be driven to sleep. I know, I know, we're crazy, but we all know a tired kid is a cranky kid and a cranky Trent is a NIGHTMARE! So we continued this habit even with newborn baby! I just wasn't in the mood to pack Tessa up and load everyone in the car today, and when Trent asked to watch Toy Story, I decided to see of he could fall asleep and low and behold, he did! Granted it is past 3 pm, so well see what this does for bed time. But he did it, it really happened! He is asleep on the couch as we speak. Yep I did say couch. What your kids don't nap on the couch?

Baby steps folks baby step!

1 month...

Well our baby girl is already 1 month old! Time is already flying and I am enjoying every second of it. Here are a few things about our little babe:
  • Weight: 7 lbs 7 oz.
  • Length: 20 inches
  • 10th percentile in both weight and length...little peanut girl! (much different than her big brother)
  • fits in mostly newborn clothes
  • wears newborn size diapers
  • Sleeps amazingly well.
  • only wakes once per night, betwen 2:00 and 4:00, nurses and goes back to sleep until about 8:00
  • Sleeps a lot during the day
  • nurses every 2-3 hours
  • loves her cae seat and riding in the car. Falls asleep every time
  • When she is awake she loves to look around and is starting to focus on things
  • She likes her swing but doesnt really like it to swing, she is content just laying in there.
  • She loves her baths
  • she will always be found with her hands up by her face
  • she has had her first x ray to check for reflux, which she does have :( poor baby
  • been through two different medications but is still spitting up almost every feeding
  • she loves to be held but she is content to lay alone
  • makes the cutest faces when she is sleeping
  • She is sooooo soooo sweet and we love ger to pieces!

Sea World...

Can you say Obsessed?

I think its safe to say I'm Tessa is obsessed with swim suits! I cant wait to see these on the little peanut!

Look what the Easter Bunny brought us...

We must have been REALLY good this year!!

Easter 2011

We had a great Easter this year! Our first Holiday as a family of four. Ryan had to work, but he at least got to spend the morning with us and got to see Trent open his basket from the Easter bunny. He is at such a fun age and its so much fun to watch him get excited about things! We spent the morning playing with all his new toys, and dying Easter eggs. I made french toast for breakfast and we just enjoyed the time with Daddy home. Once Ryan left for work, I was left with both kids to get ready to go to grandma and grandpa Hess' house. What an experience that was! It took us a whopping 3 hours to get out the door. After bargaining with Trent to get him to wear the tie I got him, chasing him around the house, and nursing baby girl, we finally made it to Grandma and Grandpas! We always have a good time up there with all of our family. We ate... a lot, had an Easter egg hunt and played our hearts out! It was a great day! A special shout out to everyone who spoiled the babes once again, Thank you so much! My kids are so lucky to have so many people who love them!
